🔍 Missive: Your inbox homeroom
Why it matters:
Your email setup is a Frankensteined mess of Gmail, Slack threads, and scattered to-dos. Missive replaces the chaos with a shared inbox where your team can triage, reply, and assign messages, without endless forwards or app-switching. You get one clean space where everyone sees what’s due and done, and what needs a quick comment.
Who’s it for
Freelancers working with an assistant or biz partner
Micro-agency owners managing client email as a team
Anyone tired of asking “Did you reply to that one?” in Slack
Best use case:
A single place for you and team to: assign threads, draft replies together, and chat inside the message. No Slack spirals or lost tasks.
Pros:
Transforms your inbox into a workspace. Assignable threads, shared drafts, internal chat, and templates can save hours weekly and reduce “did you reply to that?” moments.
Cons:
If you’re solo, some features may be overkill. If juggling numerous apps, it takes a minute to unlearn that multi-tab chaos.
Pricing:
30-day free trial. Paid: $18+/month.

🔍 Scribe: Turn “Can I ask?” into “Never mind, I found it”
Why it matters:
New clients act like it’s syllabus day, asking where to upload files, how to pay, etc. Every answer pulls you out of flow or into another call. Scribe eliminates those questions, turning any process into a step-by-step guide with clicks and screenshots. No editing or “let me just show you real quick.” Clients help themselves, and you get time back.
Best use case:
Record a quick Scribe while uploading assets or submitting invoices. Next time they ask, you send the guide and sidestep Zoom.
Who it’s for:
Anyone who wants fewer meetings and more self-serve wins
Freelancers onboarding clients who ask the same 3 questions
Creators tired of re-explaining
Pros:
Each Scribe takes less than a minute to create and can replace roughly one meeting and five back-and-forths. You help while protecting your calendar.
Cons:
Best for repeatable tasks, rather than high-touch strategy. First couple guides may need a quick polish before sending.
Pricing:
Free plan includes unlimited guides. Team plans:$15+/month.

Sherpa-approved hacks to streamline your workflow in today’s most popular AI apps.

Source: Slack by Salesforce. Create client self-serve options.
⚡ Hack #1: Slack homeroom “start here” post
Problem: Clients DM questions all day. You repeat yourself. Threads splinter. Zooms multiply.
Solution: Make a single Slack #client-homeroom channel with pinned post that answers 90% of questions.
Create #client-homeroom.
Add Bookmarks (top of the channel):
• Guides (Scribe/Docs) · • Book 15 min (calendar link)Paste this message and Pin it: Welcome to #client-homeroom 👋
Guides (how-tos): [[your Scribe/Docs link]]
Book office hours (15 min): [[your Calendar link]]
Status updates: Reply in this thread with: Win → Next → Blockers
Urgent? Start your message with URGENT:Type:
/remind @channel "Post Win → Next → Blockers in this thread" every Tue 10am
. (To set weekly Slack reminder)💡 Sherpa Tip: Set channel notifications to Mentions only to see real signals instead of hallway chatter.

Source: Microsoft. Tap auto replies to set after-hours boundaries.
⚡ Hack #2: Post your after-hours auto-reply
Problem: Clients email you at 9:42 p.m. Then again at 6:12 a.m. Then send a Slack message like “Just bumping this!” before you’ve had coffee.
Solution: Set an after-hours auto-reply that quietly posts your office hours, and points users to your self-serve links.
Turn on automatic replies for weekdays after 6 p.m. and all weekend.
Message body can be, for example:
Start here: [[Drive folder link]]
Submit files: [[Form link]]
Check progress (project tracker): [[Doc link]]
Need a meeting? (office hours): [[Calendar link]]
Add at the top: “If urgent, please include the word URGENT in the subject line.”
💡 Sherpa Tip: If the same client keeps emailing at midnight, send a Scribe called “How to respect boundaries (in 3 easy clicks).” Just kidding. Mostly.

Tools gone wild! 😜
Let’s end with a laugh — when AI tools take a detour off the happy path.

Source: Tool Sherpa AI. “Pretty sure he already replied…”
OOO loop of doom
You set up a polite after-hours reply: “Thanks! I’ll get back to you soon.”
Your client’s auto-reply said the same. Unfortunately, the two bots chatted all night, and by morning, you had 147 emails...and a migraine. Likewise, a Gmail vacation responder recently got stuck like a snake eating its tail, also spamming a thread into oblivion.
📌 Lesson learned: If two bots start flirting in your inbox, break them up before they elope. Tell auto-reply not to send if the subject contains “out of office” or “auto-reply.” (In Gmail, that means setting a filter. In Outlook, tweak your rules).
